The Cornerstone Society of Union Hospital was established in January of 2004 with the induction of 14 major donors who provided annual gifts exceeding $5,000 to the hospital. Over the course of five years, the number of Cornerstone Society members has surpassed 60.
The Union Hospital Foundation hosts two social events per year for Cornerstone Society members. These events are held in the winter and early summer of each year and provide an opportunity for social fellowship, the installation of new members and the cultivation of potential new donors who have expressed interest in joining. Membership in the Cornerstone Society is symbolized with a distinctive membership pin, public recognition at all special events the Foundation conducts, a listing in the annual report and expedited services at Union Hospital whenever possible.
Donors who wish to join the Cornerstone Society contribute a founding gift of $2,500 per person or $5,000 per couple per year. Several of the Cornerstone Members were offered membership in the Society after making substantial gifts to our most recent Capital Campaign in 2005. After making the initial gift to Union Hospital, members are expected to contribute an annual gift of $1,500 per person or $2,000 per couple to maintain membership in the Cornerstone Society. These gifts are direct donations unrelated to fundraising events.
